Garner, Iowa – Stellar Industries, Inc. is releasing a new heavy-duty telescopic service crane line at the CONEXPO/CONAGG tradeshow in Las Vegas, March 4-8, 2014. This new line of cranes ranges in capacity from 7,500 lbs. to 14,000 lbs. and offers maximum all hydraulic extensions ranging from 21-feet up to 30-feet, depending on the model. The new crane line is also equipped with the new and exclusive Stellar® CDTplus™ remote control system as a standard feature and the E-Link equipment control system as an option.
The new Stellar® cranes offer -10 degrees to +80 degrees articulation. This gives the operator both an easy reach to the snatch block for stowing and the most flexibility to load items onto the load bed. The Stellar exclusive on-demand speed control ramps the engine RPM up only when the crane is being used. When the crane is inactive for 5 seconds, the engine RPM returns to idle. This lowers fuel consumption and reduces noise pollution in the work area.
The new Stellar® CDTplus™ (Crane Dynamics Technology Plus™) system is a proprietary collection of revolutionary, industry first features that control and monitor the new cranes in real-time at the operator’s fingertips. The Stellar CDTplus equipped cranes are the first of their kind to engage and communicate with the crane operator by using a 2-color LCD screen and sensory indicators built into the radio remote control, to alert the operator with live feedback such as actual load, current reach, remaining reach, and when approaching maximum capacity. The Stellar CDTplus system will also allow the operator to go into a Boost Mode and operate at 118% of its normal operating capacity for a short period of time. An additional feature of the Stellar CDTplus system is the ability to function in Safe Mode. If a device intended to monitor the capacity of the crane operates incorrectly, the crane will put itself into safe mode. This allows the operator to work with the crane at a reduced speed until the safety device is in proper working order.
The optional E-Link equipment control system is an industry first in-cab mounted multi-touch, multi-gesture LCD screen that allows the operator to control and monitor the equipment on the service truck, even while wearing gloves. The E-Link system also features an equipment usage screen, diagnostics, service reminders and troubleshooting, and offers an optional two camera input for a rear and front or side mounted camera monitoring.
Tim Davison, product manager, bodies and cranes, says, “Stellar is committed to developing improvements to the mechanics truck industry and we’re confident the new products we are releasing will improve the operator’s efficiency, allowing them to get their customers back into the field quicker.” He continues, “As a manufacture of mechanics service trucks, our ultimate goal is to give our customer’s clients better uptime. Having an efficient and productive mechanics truck package is our way to facilitate this goal with our customer.”
Stellar will display the Model 7621 Crane mounted on a new exclusive TMAX™ body equipped with the new Stellar® CDTplus™ and new E-Link equipment control system in the North Hall, booth 11615. The Stellar Model 12630 Crane mounted on a new exclusive TMAX™ body equipped with the new Stellar® CDTplus™ and new E-Link equipment control system will be displayed in the Gold Lot booth 1406.
