Purem by Eberspaecher, has opened a new facility in Louisville, Kentucky to construct exhaust after-treatment systems.
The new 180,000 square foot plant—launching in November of 2022—is adding 250 new jobs to the area. Some of the state-of-the-art technologies include 36 automated welding cells and 60 welding robots.
The new facility from the German manufacturer is the seventh Eberspaecher site in the US. Eberspaecher North America has been in the US market since 1999, headquartered in Novi, Michigan.
Executive Vice President at Purem by Eberspaecher’s Ralf Maus, discussed the commitment of the Kentucky team: “The motivation and willingness to perform of the growing team in Louisville was proof that we are making an investment in the future.
He continued: “Today, we are celebrating the opening of our new plant in Louisville together. With the components to be produced here, we are laying the foundation for another step towards clean mobility.”
Targeted production at the new facility will be one million units per year.
Andy Beshear, Governor of the State of Kentucky, was also impressed by the progress made in the construction of the new production facility.
“Kentucky’s automotive industry continues to see incredible momentum and remains one of our state’s most important sectors. This can only happen because of companies such as Purem by Eberspaecher committing to the commonwealth and its workforce,” stated Beshear. “Today’s official opening event is an incredible achievement for not just Eberspaecher, but for Louisville and our automotive sector state-wide. I am thrilled to be here today to celebrate this exciting step and look forward to Eberspaecher’s success for many years to come.”
The Purem by Eberspaecher solutions and components are making a major contribution to compliance with emission standards and the clean mobility of tomorrow.
In Louisville, diesel exhaust after-treatment systems will be produced for a major North American automobile manufacturer. It will also produce catalytic converters, particulate filters, and complete systems to reduce emissions in diesel pickup truck models.
