Petro-Canada Lubricants, an HF Sinclair Corporation brand, has released a line of purpose-built lubricant solutions for electric vehicles (EV)—the Petro-Canada Lubricants EVR—with three new products.
Petro-Canada Lubricants specializes in products and services proven to maximize equipment performance, productivity, and overall savings. It develops solutions for heavy-duty engine oils, hydraulic fluids, automatic transmission fluids, gear oils, and greases.
The launch of EVR lubricants enables Petro-Canada Lubricants to support original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in designing optimal solutions to current EV challenges and driving innovation in the design of future high-performance EV technology.
To help enable enhanced performance, protection, and reliability for EVs, Petro-Canada Lubricants introduced: EVR Driveline, EVR Thermal Management, and EVR Motor Greases.
EVR fluids and greases provide OEMs with improved material compatibility, efficient power transfer, and improved equipment performance to enable the development of advanced driveline, axle, and battery technologies for use across a range of sectors, including automotive and heavy- and medium-duty transportation.
"The integration of EV technology into the transportation world is well underway, and our new EVR product line will further enable OEMs, commercial fleets, and consumers to realize the promise of EV technology," explained Alex Buczek, the Global Segment Manager of Transportation at Petro-Canada Lubricants. "We reliably supply our partners today with solutions for EVs based on our existing high-performance technologies. Our drive to continuously innovate has led us to launch EVR, our first brand of uniquely formulated fluids for EVs. We’re looking forward to supporting the development of technologies that drive the reliability and performance of EVs."
Petro-Canada Lubricants is also a member of the Southwest Research Institute’s Advanced Fluids for Electric Vehicles (AFEV) Consortium, which is working to advance the automotive industry’s understanding of the unique stressors placed on EV and hybrid vehicle fluids to enable the development and optimization of EV fluids and progress EV powertrain design.
