Morgan Truck Body, specialists in producing truck bodies for dry freight, reefers, platform & dump, as well as service trucks, collaborates with SEA Electric and Morgan dealer Central Trailer Service to help with an order for 40 EV (electric vehicle) truck bodies by the end of 2022.
The order consists of a truck chassis mounted with a zero-emission SEA Electric SEA-Drive Power System.
This power system is a combination 1,106-pound/foot electric motor and a 138-kWh battery pack.
The system will be upfitted with a Morgan lightweight, aluminum dry freight body, and will include myriad safety features such as a back-up camera and bright LED lighting.
Morgan Truck Body was founded in 1952 by Elton Mountz as a welding shop and created the box truck. Purchased in 1990 by John Poindexter, he has grown the company into a North American leader within the industry of commercial truck bodies. It is headquartered in Morgantown, Pennsylvania.
SEA Electric owes its roots to Australia, as a global e-Mobility tech company founded in 2012, but headquartered in Los Angeles, California. It created the SEA-Drive electric power system for global urban delivery and distribution fleets.
