With lives in Kentucky in tatters after tornadoes touched down last week, local area trucking companies are showing their community spirit by gathering and delivering donations for those impacted.
Monroe, Wisconsin-headquartered Monroe Truck Equipment, Inc.—with a location in Louisville, Kentucky—is one of them. Utilizing Facebook, the company said they wanted to fill a truck with items to help those who have lost so much during the destructive weather event.
Local communities heeded the call for help and have dropped off food, and other non-perishables such as blankets, clothing, toiletries, toys, diapers, water bottles—among the many donations. Donations of money were used to purchase items as well.
Babler Trucking of South Wayne, Wisconsin also offered the use of one of their trucks to deliver the donations.
The goods will soon be dispersed to those hard-hit areas, such as Mayfield, Kentucky, with the truck leaving today, Monday, December 20, 2021.
