San Diego, California – Mitchell 1 is now offering a QuickLink feature as a means of coverage for vehicles with advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). The feature will be included in models of cars, light trucks, and commercial trucks.
“We’re delighted to expand our product portfolio to offer a comprehensive solution for diagnosing, repairing and calibrating light, medium and heavy vehicles equipped with ADAS features,” said Ben Johnson, Director of Product Management at Mitchell 1.
The feature, which is exclusive to Mitchell 1, is intended to make diagnostic, repairing, and calibration easier by having the details together in a single location. The QuickLink dashboard equipped in the vehicles will deliver instant access to a consolidated overview of information relating to the driving assistance program, and any issues it may have.
The unique QuickLink dashboard view is available in both ProDemand® TruckSeries commercial truck repair information and automotive repair information.
The ProDemand® QuickLink is expected to improve automotive technician repair efficiency. The system will provide repair and maintenance information and real-world industry insights in a quick, single lookup.
Most Class 4-8 commercial trucks do not provide the manufacturer of the ADAS component, therefore making it difficult to handle any complications within the system. The TruckSeries QuickLink feature is designed to provide the name of the manufacturer, as well as the location on the vehicle that needs the maintenance (left, right, forward, outside, etc).
“Vehicle complexity is only going to increase and independent shops need to be ready. By expanding the ADAS QuickLink feature to cover Class 4-8 trucks, we’re now able to assist a much broader cross-section of the industry and ease the challenge of servicing vehicles with these advanced features,” said Johnson.
