VOLTEQ Equipment, a fully US-based company headquartered in Miami, Florida, is offering its new SKY 1000 mini skid steer, showcasing the machine at the recent CONEXPO-CON/AGG construction trade show in Las Vegas, Nevada earlier this month.
The SKY is the world’s first lithium-ion powered mini track loader, capable of quietly performing heavy work with its 1,000-pound lifting capacity and over 15 attachments to make life on the construction site that much easier.
The machine’s 14.34 kW battery delivers up to eight hours of operation with zero GHG (greenhouse gas) emissions or engine-related noise. Its convenient onboard charging replenishes the battery from empty to full in five hours via a typical 110V electrical outlet.
What does it do? The SKY 1000 provides, according to VOLTEQ, the highest-quality earth-moving, agricultural, and construction-related equipment in the world.
Its compact size and zero emissions are ideal for a wide range of work in confined spaces, whether indoors or outside. Doorway and narrow gate access are made possible with a machine width of just 33.9 inches, and a machine height of 49.7 inches enables working beneath ceilings and in low overhead spaces.
VOLTEQ attachments make numerous applications possible, such as material handling, breaking concrete, moving pallets, or digging a trench.
The SKY 1000 mini skid steer has lower maintenance requirements and up to 70 percent lower operational costs than comparable machines powered by gas or diesel fuel, according to VOLTEQ.
The innovative drivetrain of the SKY 1000 has no engine fluids or filters, fuel pumps or injectors, or accessory drive belts. More importantly, the SKY 1000 replaces the traditional fuel tank with an efficient battery that is less expensive to “fill up” or charge for daily operations.
Operators can control the SKY 1000 from the comfortable rear stand-on platform or remotely, up to 160’ away with the standard remote-control feature. Other standard features include loader arms floating and self-leveling functions, hydraulic attachment pin activation for quick attach, an LED working light, and telematics that provide owners with useful data including GPS, speed, and inclination information.
