Manitowoc has released its latest evolution in the National Crane product line, the NBT60XL. This model has the largest capacity and reach combination in the 60-ton class – both for boom trucks and truck cranes. To achieve the reach, the crane can be fitted to several standard truck options expanding the layout options for customers.
The NBT60XL offers a hydraulically removable counterweight ranging from 0 – 16,000 lbs., which allows to work with heavier loads. When this is equipped with the National Truck Crane (NTC) package, the machine will feature additional setup flexibility with four outrigger positions, optional two-camera system for increased visibility, and offers an integrated wireless wind speed indicator.
“The NBT60XL is set to take on all competitors in to 60 USt market,” said Bob Ritter, Product Manager of Boom Trucks at Manitowoc. “Whether it be a boom truck or truck crane, this machine features the best combination of boom length and load chart capacity with a sturdy operator’s feel and plenty of comfortable maneuverability to get to and from any jobsite. Additionally, its commercial truck carrier adds a level of comfort, customization and travel speed not yet available to the truck crane market.” This crane model offers a 151 foot five-section, full-power boom which gives the crane reach, but it also remains roadable, with the overall vehicle length being under 45 ft. Also, when it is equipped with the optional two-piece 26 ft – 45 ft telescopic job, a platform height of 204 ft can easily be reached.
