Sioux Center, Iowa – Link Mfg., Ltd. has begun construction of a new 50,000 square-foot manufacturing and training facility in Iowa, expected to be completed by the end of 2021. The new Plant 4 will connect to the adjacent Plant 3 building that currently employs over 200 staff, with the company expecting to hire an additional 50 workers for the new facility. The construction process ceremoniously began with company officials and dignitaries breaking ground with gold-tipped shovels.
“Link’s recent acquisition of Hadley SmartValve Electronic Height Control Systems, Smart Air Management Systems (SAMS), dynamic air suspension control technology and expert staff significantly expands Link’s capabilities, increases its overall product depth and will stimulate the development of new innovations, while enhancing the company’s electrical engineering and software development capabilities,” said Jim Huls, President of Link Mfg. “Link now moves into the whole-vehicle suspension control segment of the heavy truck market, extending its reach into medium- and heavy-duty truck, tractor, trailer, motorcoach, transit bus, shuttle bus, recreational vehicle and specialty vehicle markets.”
The new space will allow the company to reconfigure its operations to support a broader product line. Link hopes to use the facility as the company pivots its focus towards the innovation, engineering, and manufacturing of suspension control technologies.
