Jasper Engines & Transmissions, located in Jasper, Indiana, has its new remanufactured RAM 6.4L HEMI engine available for the 2014-2017 RAM 3500-5500 pick-up.
The original 6.4L HEMI—prone to lifter roller failers according to Jasper—has been remanufactured by the company using an improved roller bearing assembly.
The company also used forged pistons to run cooler, allowing piston jets to reroute to spray lube in the lifter cam area.
The company said its remanufactured 6.4L HEMI increases the strength and durability of the engine, too. Forged with what Jasper called a better-engineered design, it has a thicker and anodized crown, with a 10 percent increase in the skirt thrust area. This skirt is coated with an abradable material, which the company said will provide the piston with optimal cylinder-to-wall clearance.
The remanufactured 6.4L HEMI engine is covered by a nationwide, transferable part and labor warranty of up to three years or 100,000 miles. Full warranty disclosure is available on the Jasper website: www.jasperengines.com.
