Not a typo, Ford recently showed off its new all-electric F-100 concept truck, the Eluminator.
If it looks old-school, it’s just on the outside, as it is based on Ford’s 1978 F-100 pick-up truck. However, this all-electric bad boy offers zero tailpipe emissions, and is powered by a new Ford Performance Parts Eluminator electric crate motor.
The concept vehicle has all-wheel drive that receives its power from a pair of electric motors—based on the ones used by the company’s 2021 Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition. That means power.
The two electric traction motors drive the front and rear wheels providing 480 horsepower and 634 lb.-ft. of torque.
The all-electric F-100 Eluminator concept vehicle was designed by Ford Performance and built in collaboration with MLe Racecars. It uses a custom chassis from Roadster Shop, has upholstery from MDM Upholstery and a billet aluminium dashboard from JJR Fabrication.
The Avalanche Gray pain scheme has Cerakote Copper accents applied by Brand X Customs.
For its tires, the Eluminator has Forgeline custom 19x10-inch billet aluminum three-piece wheels that are enveloped by 275/45-19 high-performance tires from Michelin Latitude Sport.
Although the Eluminator is still only a concept vehicle and not for sale, the e-crate motor is available at authorized Ford parts dealers or online at Ford Performance Parts at a retail price of $3,900. Street legal, these e-crate motors each offer 281 horsepower and 317 lb.-ft of torque.
Ford said it is continuing to develop more components for its Eluminator powertrain with help from other performance manufacturers to further expand into the aftermarket of vehicle electrification.
