Here’s a new for 2024 cool tool from Makita.
The 18V LXT Brushless 3-inch Cut-Off Tool offers the operator power and speed in an ultra-compact size.
Although a great fit for a wide range of cutting applications, its light weight of only 2.6 lbs (including battery) and its sleek design allow for use in tight spaces.
Its Makita-built brushless motor delivers 20,000 RPM for faster cutting through a range of materials. The electronically controlled brushless motor efficiently uses energy to match torque and RPM to the changing demands of the application. The brushless motor optimizes battery usage for up to 50 percent longer run time per charge.
Convenience features include an ergonomic design for one-handed operation, aided by its light weight, a conveniently located switch for easy forward and reverse operation, and an LED light that illuminates the work area.
The Cut-Off Tool also includes a tool-less dust collection cut-off guard that installs easily and allows up to 5/8-inch cuts when installed.
It’s part of Makita’s expanding 18V LXT system, the world’s largest cordless tool system powered by 18V lithium-ion batteries.
Although the battery is sold separately, the Makita 18V LXT batteries have, according to the company, the fastest charge times in their categories, so the operator spends more time working than waiting for it to charge up.
For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita created Star Protection Computer Controls. This is a communication technology that allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real-time and monitor conditions during use to protect against overloading, over-discharging, and overheating.
For increased versatility, the tool can also be powered by Makita 18V LXT and Compact Lithium-Ion batteries, with the star symbol on the battery indicating Star Protection inside.
