Leatherman recently released the Leatherman Bond, its all-new multipurpose tool, and it is as versatile as a tool can get.
The tool is lightweight at a mere 5.8oz, but contains 14 different tools. These include needle nose pliers, regular pliers, hard-wire cutters, wire cutters, a wire stripper, a 420HC blade, Awl, a can opener, a bottle opener, wood/metal file, Phillips’s screwdriver, medium screwdriver, small screwdriver, and a 4-inch ruler.
The Leatherman Bond is a nod to the original Leatherman PST (pocket survival tool). Released in 1983, Tim Leatherman’s first tool was the first multi-tool centered around a pair of needle-nose pliers. Now, 28 years later, the brand has revived the same design and set of tools found in the retro product.
The tool is available in stainless steel silver as well as sheath black nylon. The durable product gives Leatherman the confidence to offer consumers a 25-year warranty on each bond tool. Those interested can purchase the product online at Leatherman’s website for a price of $49.99, which costs 30% less when adjusted to inflation compared to the 1983 version of the tool at $25.
