If you’re going to wear protective headgear, you might as well wear something with the name of Viking.
Lincoln Electric Holdings, Inc., headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, is a multinational and global manufacturer of welding products, arc welding equipment, welding consumables, plasma, and oxy-fuel cutting equipment, and robotic welding systems. So when it offers a new line of welding helmets, it bears paying attention to.
Its new line-up of VIKING 2450 ADV Series welding helmets is for the construction and building sectors—but of course, you can use it with your service truck applications.
Not only functional, but this cool tool also looks pretty darn nice, too—kind of like a painted-up hockey goalie mask—and is available in a wide range of painted kits: All American (see image above); White Tail Camo (for those looking to blend in); Black (black is the new black); Street Rod (who doesn't love flames?!; and Graveyard Shift (for those with a macabre sense of (after)life. All new, all cool.
The VIKING 2450 ADV Series of auto-darkening helmets have a user interface, LED technology, and 4C optics—the LED light comes standard.
The LED lighting system was designed by Lincoln Electric to improve operator productivity, quality, and safety by adjusting to the environment as it improves the visibility of the weld, work-piece, and weld joint.
The helmets can be turned on or off by the operator using a low-profile external control. When on, it lights up the workspace providing visibility during the arc-off time.
To save power and increase battery life when welding, the LED light automatically turns off when the operator strikes an arc and turns back on when the arc is extinguished.
The light also features a removable battery pack powered by a AA battery. Replacements can be conducted without interfering with the helmet’s primary functions.
Features:
- Digital Controls: Moisture and abrasion resistant digital user interface for shade, sensitivity, delay, and mode control;
- Optics: 4C Lens Technology, 1/1/1/1 Optical Clarity, and 9.3 square inches of viewing area;
- External Controls: Integrated grind and LED light push-button controls to allow operators to adjust helmet functionality for each step of the fabrication process;
- Headgear Design: X6 headgear distributes weight and reduces pressure
