Noregon announced the promotion of Bill A. Hathaway to Chief Executive Officer on April 3, 2025. Hathaway, who has been a part of Noregon’s leadership team since 2018, previously held the role of Chief Revenue Officer, where he led the company’s sales, marketing, and product management efforts.
“It is an honor to announce Bill Hathaway as our new CEO,” said Bill G. Hathaway, Noregon’s founder and Executive Chairman, and the father of Bill A. Hathaway. “No one better understands Noregon’s vision, long-term goals and what is required to achieve them. Bill has been an integral part of Noregon’s growth, and I look forward to even greater success under his leadership.”
Noregon develops software, hardware, and technology to support the maintenance and service of commercial vehicles and heavy-duty equipment. In 2021, Hearst acquired a majority stake in the company.
“Bill A. Hathaway has an extraordinary grasp of Noregon’s business and he has proven himself in every role he has taken on at the company,” said Steven R. Swartz, Hearst President and Chief Executive Officer. “My Hearst colleagues and I congratulate him on this promotion and look forward to this new leadership partnership between Bill A. and Noregon’s founder and executive chairman, Bill G. Hathaway.”
Hathaway joined Noregon in 2016, where he initially led the content management group. Hathaway quickly advanced within the company, restructuring its sales strategies and managing the national accounts sales team.
Hathaway also played a key role in launching several Noregon products and services, such as NextStep Repair, Technician as a Service (TaaS), and ShopPulse. He has served on various industry boards, including those for ATA (American Trucking Associations), TMC (Technology & Maintenance Council), MEMA (Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association), and the SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers).
“Bill’s experience working with industry leaders is a major asset to Noregon and our long-term vision. Bill developed strong relationships with customers and partners while serving in his sales leadership role, and we look forward to growing those relationships while developing new ones under his direction,” added Bill G. Hathaway.
Upon his appointment, Bill A. Hathaway expressed his gratitude, stating, “I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve Noregon and its leadership team. I have so much respect for this organization and the role it plays in keeping vehicles and equipment operating safely. I look forward to building upon Noregon’s incredible foundation and leading the business into the future.”
