Stellantis N.V. has announced that Antonio Filosa has been unanimously appointed as its new Chief Executive Officer by the company’s Board of Directors. The decision followed an extensive internal and external search process, led by a special committee chaired by Executive Chairman John Elkann.
Filosa will be officially elected to the board as an executive director during an upcoming Extraordinary Shareholder Meeting, expected to be scheduled soon. Until then, to facilitate a smooth leadership transition, the board has granted him CEO powers effective June 23.
With over 25 years of experience in the automotive industry, Filosa was chosen for his strong leadership credentials, in-depth global expertise, and comprehensive knowledge of Stellantis. He has held key positions in both North and South America, significantly boosting the company’s performance in both regions.
During his tenure as Chief Operating Officer of South America, Filosa propelled FIAT to the top of the market and expanded other brands like Peugeot, Citroën, Ram, and Jeep. He played a critical role in developing the Pernambuco plant and helped establish Brazil as Jeep’s leading market outside the US.
As Jeep CEO, Filosa grew the brand’s footprint globally, especially in Europe, where the Jeep Avenger became a best-seller. Promoted to Chief Operating Officer, Americas, in December 2024, he began revitalizing US operations by reducing dealer inventory, refreshing leadership, launching new powertrains, and increasing engagement with key stakeholders.
Filosa will unveil his new leadership team when he assumes the CEO role on June 23, while John Elkann continues as Executive Chairman.
“It is my great honor to be named the CEO of this fantastic company,” said Filosa. “I am grateful to our Chairman, John Elkann, and to the members of our board for their leadership, particularly in these recent months, and for the confidence they have placed in me to lead our business during this pivotal time for our industry."
Separately, Stellantis appointed Sébastien Jacquet as Chief Quality Officer on June 2, succeeding Filosa. Jacquet brings nearly 25 years of experience in engineering, quality, and project management.
