Work Truck Week 2026 delivered one of its most future‑focused editions yet, drawing more than 15,600 commercial vehicle professionals to Indianapolis for a week of product launches, technology previews, and industry‑shaping announcements. The show’s organizer is the NTEA – The Work Truck Association.
The annual gathering—long considered the most influential event in the work truck sector—once again demonstrated how quickly the commercial vehicle landscape is evolving and how aggressively manufacturers are responding.
According to the event organizers, a verified 15,646 commercial vehicle industry professionals from 29 countries and all 50 US states gathered at Work Truck Week 2026 to explore what’s new and what’s next in the work truck world. The show ran March 10–13 at the Indiana Convention Center and featured a sold‑out exhibit hall, expanded education tracks, and a steady stream of OEM announcements.
Major OEMs Roll Out New Trucks, Vans, and Fleet Technology
This year’s show floor was packed with 547 exhibiting companies, many of which used the event to debut new vehicles or technology platforms.
Ram Professional confirmed the return of its midsize commercial van, unveiling the all‑new 2027 ProMaster City.
Harbinger introduced its HC Series Cab, a medium‑duty low‑cab‑forward platform available in electric or hybrid plug‑in configurations.
Ford Pro made headlines with the debut of Ford Pro AI, an intelligent fleet assistant, and new 2027 Super Duty packages designed for what the company calls the Essential Economy—the three million businesses and 95 million workers powering construction, manufacturing, service, energy, and logistics.
NTEA said, “There was something to discover down every aisle of the sold-out Work Truck Show exhibit hall… including truck and trailer lights designed to last forever, solar charging and no-idle systems, cargo management solutions, truck bodies, engines and more.”
Green Truck Summit Evolves Into Future Truck Summit
The Green Truck Summit—the event’s technology‑focused kickoff conference—delivered one of its most consequential announcements in years.
Emily Korns, NTEA Board member and president of J&J Truck Bodies and Trailers, revealed that the program will be rebranded as the Future Truck Summit beginning in 2027. The expanded curriculum, developed in collaboration with the NAFA Fleet Management Association, will focus on rapidly advancing fuels, software, hardware, and on‑vehicle technologies.
“This evolution reflects a broader and more forward-looking mission,” Korns said. “Vehicle technology is advancing quickly. Customer expectations are rising. Regulatory and market pressures are accelerating change.”
Ride & Drive Highlighted Electric and Advanced‑Propulsion Vehicles
The Ride & Drive event once again proved to be a major draw, allowing attendees to test 15 vehicles across electric, hybrid, and advanced internal combustion platforms.
Subject matter experts from 15 companies were on hand to walk participants through propulsion systems, sustainability features, and fuel‑efficiency technologies.
Work Truck Week’s education program continued to expand, offering sessions on engineering, regulations, workforce development, fleet management, powertrain innovation, and upfitting.
A dozen OEMs also delivered exclusive Chassis Updates, outlining model changes and upfit considerations for 2026 and beyond.
Beyond the product launches and technical sessions, the event served as an annual reunion for many in the industry. Networking events included the Opening Reception at Lucas Oil Stadium, the Generation Next Leadership Workshop & Networking Reception, and the NTEA Annual Meeting featuring keynote speakers Karl Rove and Jim Messina.
Work Truck Week will return to Indianapolis March 9–12, 2027.
