VISTA, short for Volvo International Service Training Award, is the company’s flagship aftermarket competition and is considered the largest service market contest in the world. The biennial program brings together dealership professionals from more than 100 countries, testing their ability to diagnose issues, solve complex technical challenges, and work efficiently as a team.
“VISTA is one of my favorite programs because it represents everything that makes the Volvo Trucks service network so strong—passion, teamwork, technical excellence and a relentless commitment to supporting our customers,” explained Peter Voorhoeve, President, Volvo Trucks North America. “Programs like this highlight the expertise across our dealer network, and seeing these teams earn a place on the global stage is a significant accomplishment. It’s a proud moment for them and the dealerships they represent.”
Participants in the competition advance through multiple rounds that combine theoretical knowledge with hands-on problem solving. Challenges are designed to mirror real-world service conditions, including electrical diagnostics, troubleshooting, and time-sensitive repair scenarios that technicians face daily in the shop.
“Continuous learning is critical in today’s rapidly evolving service environment, and VISTA brings that learning to life in a way that’s engaging and rewarding,” said Steven Parkins, Vice President, Volvo Trucks Academy. “The competition reflects the passion our dealership teams bring to supporting customers every day and highlights the importance of investing in ongoing training across the Volvo Trucks network.”
The VISTA 2026 world finals are scheduled for September 7–11, 2026, in Gothenburg, the home of Volvo Trucks. Teams will compete in a series of high-pressure challenges designed to showcase both individual technical ability and team coordination.
First launched in 1957, the VISTA program has grown into a cornerstone of Volvo Trucks’ global service strategy. By simulating real workshop conditions, the competition reinforces best practices in diagnostics and repair, while strengthening collaboration across the company’s dealer network.
Volvo Trucks Academy supports these efforts through ongoing training programs that combine hands-on instruction with digital learning tools. The goal is to ensure technicians and service teams are equipped to handle increasingly complex vehicle systems while maintaining high standards for safety, uptime, and customer support.
