Sage Mfg. has officially launched as the parent company of Sage Oil Vac, Amarillo Tanks, and the newly established Amarillo Upfitters, bringing the company's expanding manufacturing operations under a single organizational structure.
The announcement marks a new chapter for the Amarillo, Texas-based company, which says the move reflects its evolution from a single-product manufacturer into a diversified group serving customers across construction, agriculture, mining, transportation, energy and industrial markets.
The launch of Sage Mfg. coincides with the opening of a new 20-acre headquarters and manufacturing campus in Amarillo. The company said the new facility represents an estimated $21 million investment in facilities and infrastructure.
Aaron Sage, Chief Executive Officer of Sage Mfg. and second-generation owner, described the move as a natural progression for the company.
"Sage Mfg. represents the next step in our evolution," said Sage. "We've grown beyond the single company my father founded, now becoming a family of businesses that share a common purpose: helping hardworking people do their jobs more efficiently, more safely and more profitably."
For service truck operators and fleet managers, the most notable development may be the launch of Amarillo Upfitters, a vocational truck upfitting company created to meet growing demand for specialized work vehicles.
According to the company, Amarillo Upfitters will design and build custom service trucks for contractors, municipalities, utilities and fleet operators. The business is focused on delivering application-specific truck solutions intended to improve productivity, reduce downtime and address operational challenges that standard equipment may not solve.
The company said Amarillo Upfitters combines engineering, technician-focused design and manufacturing expertise to develop trucks tailored to end-user requirements.
Sage Oil Vac remains a cornerstone of the portfolio. Founded in 1993 by Gary Sage, the company manufactures mobile lube equipment and preventive maintenance systems used by heavy equipment operators and fleet organizations worldwide. The company is known for its fluid exchange technologies designed to improve maintenance efficiency and workplace safety.
Amarillo Tanks, acquired as Willborn Brothers in 2021, manufactures steel tanks and related products for commercial, industrial and energy applications. The acquisition expanded the organization’s manufacturing capabilities and strengthened vertical integration across its operations.
While Sage Oil Vac, Amarillo Tanks and Amarillo Upfitters will continue operating under their individual brands, Sage Mfg. will provide strategic leadership, operational support and investment across the portfolio.
"Our goal is to build great companies that solve real-world problems," explained Sage. "Whether we're developing maintenance equipment, manufacturing tanks or delivering custom upfitting solutions, we're focused on building the companies that build what’s next."
