Everything’s bigger in Texas, or so the old adage goes—and Rush Enterprises ensures it continues to be true after acquiring 16 dealer locations from Summit Truck Group in a $205-million deal.
Rush Enterprises, headquartered in New Braunfels, Texas, is possesses the largest network of heavy- and medium-duty truck dealerships in North America.
Even with the deal, Summit Truck Group remains one of the largest International brand commercial vehicle dealership groups in the United States.
The acquisition is the biggest ever for Rush Enterprises, and now has 125 franchised dealerships spread through 22 states.
The newest acquisitions for Rush feature dealerships in Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Tennessee and Texas.
Included in the deal are Idealease commercial vehicle leasing at eight of the locations, featuring five for the International brand, and three just for Idealease.
Other facilities include one for used truck sales in Kansas City; a collision center in Memphis, and will also feature the IC Bus, Isuzu and Dennis Eagle badges at certain dealership locations.
The newly acquired dealership in Wichita Falls, Texas will operate as a full-service Peterbilt dealership.
