NTEA – The Work Truck Association has launched a new quarterly publication aimed at helping industry stakeholders better understand the forces shaping the commercial vehicle market.
Called Commercial Vehicle Market Update, the report delivers data-driven analysis covering market activity, economic conditions, technology developments, and other factors affecting the work truck industry. The association said the resource is intended to provide context around current conditions while helping businesses prepare for future market changes.
According to NTEA, the report examines commercial vehicle sales, shipments, and inventory levels, along with trends across vehicle classes, cab configurations, body types, and vocational applications. It also reviews broader economic indicators, fuel and material costs, financing considerations, and developments related to zero-emission vehicles and advanced technologies.
“Commercial vehicle market conditions are influenced by a wide range of interconnected factors, and understanding how those pieces fit together is critical for effective business planning,” said Andrew Wrobel, NTEA Commercial Vehicle Insight Strategist. “Commercial Vehicle Market Update brings those signals together in one resource, giving industry professionals timely context they can use to better understand where the market stands and where it may be headed.”
The first edition of the report focuses on second-quarter 2026 data. Among the areas analyzed are commercial vehicle sales and inventory trends, market activity by weight class and cab type, vocational body trends, macroeconomic influences on vehicle demand, and industry forecasts for the coming quarter.
NTEA said the publication is designed to go beyond presenting statistics by identifying developing trends, highlighting market opportunities and uncertainties, and outlining key indicators worth monitoring in future months.
The Commercial Vehicle Market Update will be published on a quarterly basis. The report is available at no cost to NTEA members and can be purchased by non-members for $699.
Established in 1964, the NTEA represents more than 2,100 companies involved in manufacturing, distributing, installing, selling, and repairing commercial vehicles, truck bodies, truck equipment, trailers, and accessories.
