M.H. Eby, Inc. has announced the retirement of Leon Martin, marking the end of an impressive 48-year career with the company.
Founded in 1938, M.H. Eby is a third-generation family business known for its innovative aluminum trailers and truck bodies. The company operates manufacturing facilities in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Iowa.
Martin joined Eby in 1978, right after high school, and quickly became a respected figure in the trailer and truck body industry. Martin started as a builder, gaining hands-on experience with Eby’s products before advancing to a supervisory role in livestock trailer production.
Martin leadership skills and approachable nature later led him to sales, where he worked with dealers and retail customers.
Throughout his career, Martin built strong relationships across the eastern U.S. and Canada, earning a reputation as a knowledgeable and trusted industry expert. His impact on M.H. Eby and the wider industry is undeniable.
“Leon’s contributions to Eby have been immeasurable,” commented Travis Eby, company president. “His knowledge, kindness, and ability to connect with customers and colleagues alike have made him an integral part of the Eby family. While we will miss his daily presence, Leon’s legacy will continue to inspire us for years to come.”
Now retired, Martin looks forward to spending more time with his wife, Linda, their three married children, and 11 grandchildren.
