Lytx Inc. has debuted its new Lytx Driver App, a suite of tools that lets service truck operators et al use their Android or iOS device to track and improve their on-road performance.
“With the current global economic situation, drivers are busier and more stressed than ever before,” said Rajesh Rudraradhya, Lytx chief technology officer. “These driver centric tools are an investment to reduce the burden of their day-to-day job, helping them stay positive and motivated as they go about performing a critical service that we all rely on.”
Features include:
- Video – vehicle operators have access to video recorded by Lytx DriveCam Event Recorders. A scrolling feed of video clips provide an objective overview of past trips.
- Self-Coaching – Using video-playback, drivers may track individual performances to determine if any driving improvements are required.
- Performance Metrics – Drivers can view their past 90-days to track productivity progress to address new risks providing information to develop long-term progress.
- Driver Recognition – Allows drivers to compare their own performance against others within a fleet’s system. It also allows fleet managers to use the data to initiate recognition programs for outstanding safety performance within their Lytx account.
- Route Risk – Helps drivers find the safest and quickest route to a destination. It alerts drivers to slowing traffic, crashes, inclement weather, pedestrian crossings, children playing, wildlife crossings and other potential dangers. Currently only available on iOS devices.
- ELD Compliance – Drivers can record ELD HOS (electronic logging devices – hours of service) status and complete vehicle inspection from their tablet or smartphone. The dashboard and driving log make it easy for drivers to see when they are on or off duty, and even when they are due for a break.
- Driver ID – Access to individualized driver QR code – as an option to having to physically carry a company badge.
“When drivers have access to tools that empower them to excel at their jobs, that can translate to better engagement, more job satisfaction, lower turnover and safer driving,” said Kristin Costas, director of product management at Lytx. “This, in turn, allows managers to focus more on running their operations rather than monitoring individual drivers or technicians in the field.”
