Linxup has introduced two new rear-facing cameras designed to extend video coverage beyond the front and interior views typically provided by dash camera systems.
Headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, the company provides GPS tracking, dash camera, and fleet safety solutions to help fleets improve safety, reduce risk, increase efficiency, and monitor vehicles, equipment, tools, and field personnel.
The new LinxCam Rear Vision and LinxCam Rear Vision Slimline cameras connect directly to the company's existing LinxCam platform, giving fleet operators visibility behind vehicles where traditional forward-facing and in-cab cameras cannot capture footage.
According to Linxup, the additional camera coverage can be used to document rear-end collisions, monitor assets, verify completed work, and provide video evidence when disputes or liability claims arise.

The company has released two versions of the camera to accommodate different applications.
The standard Rear Vision model is designed for operations that require visibility into activity occurring behind the vehicle. Linxup said the camera can support proof-of-service documentation, asset monitoring, and rear-end collision investigations.
The Rear Vision Slimline model provides similar rear visibility capabilities in a more compact housing that mounts above the vehicle license plate. The company said the smaller design is intended for fleets primarily seeking additional visibility and collision documentation.
Rear-facing camera systems have become increasingly common as fleets adopt more connected safety technologies. While forward-facing dash cameras remain the foundation of many video monitoring programs, operators are adding side, rear, and 360-degree camera systems to reduce blind spots and create a more complete record of vehicle activity.
"It's helping with my product security and my overhead,” said William Fisher, Logistics Manager, Shore Appliance Connection. “I'm able to dial in on what is going on with what truck and address it from there—whether that's dealing with product off the back of the truck getting damaged, or workers' comp claims. Being able to watch and see what's going on with my vehicles allows me to get better insight."
Linxup said demand for camera technology continues to grow among fleet operators. In a recent survey conducted by the company, 53.6 percent of fleet professionals said technologies such as dash cameras and GPS tracking help improve driver safety.
Additionally, 43.8 percent reported that camera or GPS footage had changed the outcome of an insurance claim or legal dispute, while 46.2 percent said dash, rear-facing, or 360-degree camera systems delivered the most value in their daily operations.
Both new rear-facing cameras are available now and operate through the existing LinxCam platform and storage system, allowing fleets already using the technology to add rear visibility without deploying a separate camera solution.
