Kenworth briefly revealed its new C580 truck after a brochure was accidentally published under the www.kenworth.com/trucks/w990/ directory. The material was taken down shortly after appearing. It appears to have been discovered by Edison Motors, a Canadian clean‑technology truck manufacturer headquartered in Donald, British Columbia, specializing in hybrid‑electric vocational and heavy‑duty trucks.
The brochure offered an early look at the next generation of Kenworth’s extreme‑duty C5‑series platform—though the company may revise details before the official debut. Notably, the document referred to the cab as a “driver’s studio.”
Page 2 of the brochure stated:
“Meet the all-new Kenworth C580. Since 1972, Kenworth’s legendary C5 series of trucks have set the standard for rugged durability in the harshest conditions all around the globe. C580 is the next generation in extreme-duty and off-road performance from Kenworth. Whether it’s hauling half a million pounds out of an arctic mine, oil rigs across the Alberta muskeg or a load of logs out of the woods, C580 is your toughest partner on the job, going further, hauling more, and performing where no other truck dare go.”
Page 3 of the brochure outlined several durability, technology, and comfort features—though Kenworth may still be holding back some surprises for launch. Highlights included:
“High capacity 1780 sq-in cooling module for cooling high horsepower, stationary, extreme heavy-haul and other demanding applications”
“Redesigned sheet metal hood and fenders, available in standard and wide widths, with removable side panels”
“Distinctive cowl-mounted 13” stainless steel ERA air cleaners add form and function, enhancing C580’s undeniably tough exterior”
“Standard quad 4x6 heated LED headlamps”
“C580 is custom engineered to handle any terrain, weather, or region but you don’t have to sacrifice comfort to tackle the world’s toughest jobs. The C580 features Kenworth’s latest technology-rich cab, with 15-inch digital display and SmartWheel® standard, and available options like electronic park brake, digital mirrors, and more. The Kenworth C580 puts you in the most exclusive driver’s seat on (or off) the road, ensuring you’re equipped to tackle any job in comfort.“
The Kenworth C580 is expected to make its official debut at CONEXPO-CON/AGG in Las Vegas, Nevada, (March 3-7, 2026) or at Work Truck Week in Indianapolis, Indiana (March 10-13, 2026).
