HD Hyundai Construction Equipment North America has expanded its Canadian dealer network by partnering with A.M.B. Lift, a well-established equipment dealer serving the Ottawa Valley and Eastern Ontario, Canada.
The move gives contractors, landscapers, and other professionals in the region access to Hyundai’s compact excavators and loaders through a trusted local provider.
A.M.B. Lift, which recently celebrated 35 years in business, has grown from a small operation in a garage to a dynamic company with more than 40 employees and locations in Ottawa and Peterborough, Ontario. For now, Hyundai compact construction equipment sales and service will be handled out of the Ottawa facility—a 25,000-square-foot location equipped with an overhead crane, full paint booth, and rehab capabilities.
“The excellent support we get from Hyundai Material Handling was a driving factor in our taking on the Hyundai construction equipment products,” exclaimed Trevor Barclay, President of A.M.B. Lift. “We’re a service-oriented business, and at least half of our 23-truck service fleet will serve our construction customers.”
Gordon Plotkin, HD Hyundai Construction Equipment North America’s Region Director for Canada, emphasized that A.M.B. Lift’s reputation for service was key to the partnership.
“We’re confident A.M.B. will provide a level of customer support that will impress construction contractors, landscapers and others who currently run other equipment brands,” Plotkin said. “With 35 years in business, they have well-established relationships with customers who will appreciate getting Hyundai equipment from a dealer they already trust.”
Barclay noted that the transition will be seamless thanks to A.M.B.’s existing expertise with Hyundai engines and hydraulics, as well as a strong parts inventory. The dealership already has a three-ton and five-ton compact excavator in stock and is bringing in one of Hyundai’s new HT38 compact track loaders for snow removal.
“We are excited about all of it—the whole Hyundai lineup—and we look forward to having a sea of yellow Hyundai construction equipment our customers can choose from,” Barclay said.
