Hyundai Translead has expanded its commercial vehicle dealer network with the addition of Tom’s Truck Center, a Southern California dealership that will support the sales, service, and deployment of the Hyundai XCIENT Fuel Cell truck.
The move is intended to increase access to hydrogen-powered commercial vehicles while providing fleets with local sales and service support as the industry continues to evaluate zero-emission transportation technologies.
Tom’s Truck Center has served Southern California since 1949 and operates locations in Santa Fe Springs and Santa Ana. As a full-service Class 1-8 truck dealer, the company supports a variety of commercial vehicle platforms and has experience with diesel, gasoline, electric, and hydrogen-powered vehicles.
KC Heidler, President of Tom’s Truck Center, said hydrogen technology offers several operational advantages that could make it an attractive option for commercial fleets.

Tom’s Truck Center recently reached an early milestone in local hydrogen truck adoption with the sale and delivery of its first Hyundai XCIENT Fuel Cell truck through California’s Hybrid and Zero-Emission Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP).
To support fuel cell vehicle customers, the dealership has opened a dedicated service bay at its Santa Fe Springs facility. The service area was designed specifically for hydrogen-powered commercial vehicles and includes the technology required to support fuel cell truck maintenance and repairs.
The company is also expanding its hydrogen fueling capabilities. A temporary modular hydrogen refueling station is scheduled to open at the Santa Fe Springs location in June 2026. According to Hyundai Translead, it will be the second modular hydrogen station deployed at the dealership.
Sean Kenney, Chief Executive Officer of Hyundai Translead, said expanding dealer support networks will be critical as hydrogen-powered transportation continues to gain momentum.

Looking ahead, Tom’s Truck Center is working with Total Hydrogen Solutions to develop a larger permanent hydrogen refueling station in Santa Fe Springs. The station is expected to open in late 2027 and is intended to support the long-term adoption and operation of hydrogen-powered commercial vehicles throughout the region.
As fleets continue exploring alternatives to conventional diesel power, investments in vehicle support, service expertise, and fueling infrastructure are expected to play an important role in the growth of hydrogen-powered trucking. The partnership between Hyundai Translead and Tom’s Truck Center represents another step toward expanding that ecosystem in Southern California.
