Fleetio has announced the general availability of its AI Service Advisor, a maintenance-focused artificial intelligence tool designed to help fleets make faster service decisions, reduce downtime, and automate routine maintenance processes.
According to the company, AI Service Advisor evaluated more than $1.4 billion in maintenance spending during a six-month open beta period. Fleetio reported that vehicles using the system returned to service an average of 2.5 hours sooner per repair.
The platform is built into Fleetio's fleet maintenance and optimization software and is designed to assist managers throughout the repair process. The company said the technology can prioritize maintenance issues, evaluate repairs, draft service recommendations, advance low-risk approvals according to fleet-defined policies, and handle routine post-service follow-up tasks.
Jill Perry, Fleet Administration Manager, Ramos Oil, said the technology has reduced the amount of manual review required for maintenance work orders.
“The fact that I don’t have to go line by line on every work order is huge. AI Service Advisor is incredible because there’s absolutely no way one person can catch everything," said Perry. "By automatically flagging items that require a deeper dive, Service Advisor just makes my life so much easier and less time-consuming. That alone easily saves me an hour and a half a day, which can add up to about 400 hours a year saved.”
Fleetio explained that the system helps maintenance departments manage growing volumes of repair data and maintenance alerts by applying insights gathered from 14 years of maintenance records covering millions of assets and tens of millions of repair orders. The company also noted that AI Service Advisor currently resolves more than 2,000 maintenance issues each month through automated workflows.
Jorge Valdivia, Chief Technology Officer, Fleetio, related that the company's long-term objective is to make fleet software more capable of assisting with operational decision-making.
“We’re moving toward a world where fleet technology does more than surface information. It should understand the context behind a decision, apply what it has learned from years of operational data, and help determine the right action in the moment,” stated Valdivia. “AI Service Advisor brings that intelligence directly into the maintenance workflow by automating routine decision-making to help fleets focus on the situations that require experience, ultimately driving real cost savings.”
Fleetio said AI Service Advisor can draft work orders from maintenance signals, assess repairs against fleet history and warranty opportunities, prioritize issues based on operational impact, and automatically approve qualifying low-risk repairs within established fleet policies. The company plans to expand AI capabilities across its platform over the coming year while maintaining customer control over automated decision-making.
Fleetio is headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, and provides fleet maintenance and optimization software for commercial fleet operators. The company develops tools designed to help organizations manage vehicle maintenance, repairs, inspections, parts, and overall fleet performance.
