EnerSys is introducing its newest heavy‑duty battery—the ODYSSEY Evolution ODV31—at the American Trucking Associations (ATA) Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) 2026 Annual Meeting & Transportation Technology Exhibition in booth #1928.
The new Group 31 model is engineered for power‑intensive commercial vehicle platforms and is built around the company’s proprietary AGM2 Thin Plate Pure Lead (TPPL) technology. According to EnerSys, the battery delivers up to 650 cycles at 80 percent Depth of Discharge (DOD), giving fleets a longer‑lasting option for vehicles with growing electrical demands.
“The ODYSSEY Evolution ODV31 battery represents a meaningful step forward in commercial vehicle power performance,” said Jim Bevan, Senior Director of Transportation Products at EnerSys. “As electrical loads increase across modern heavy-duty platforms, fleets need batteries that can withstand deeper cycling, harsher conditions, and extended service intervals. By combining proven AGM construction with advanced TPPL technology, we’re delivering a solution built for reliability, durability, and long-term value.”
The ODV31 also pairs with the ODYSSEY Connect battery monitoring system, which tracks the state of charge, state of health, voltage, and temperature. Data is transmitted to a smart device, giving technicians and fleet managers real‑time visibility into battery condition and performance trends.
“From the first day of battery operation, the ODYSSEY Connect system captures and analyzes battery operating history to provide a complete view of battery health, usage patterns, and performance trends over time,” added Bevan. “These insights can help end-users stay ahead of developing battery issues and make smarter, more proactive maintenance decisions to help avoid unplanned downtime.”
Additional specifications include a service life of up to 10 years, an operating temperature range from -40°F (-40°C) to 176°F (80°C), 800 Cold Cranking Amps (CCA), 220 minutes of reserve capacity, and enhanced shock and vibration resistance. The battery is backed by an industry‑leading warranty.
The ODYSSEY Evolution ODV31 is debuting at TMC 2026, giving technicians, fleet operators, and maintenance leaders an early look at EnerSys’ latest TPPL platform.
