Bollinger Motors is set to begin production of its Bollinger B4 Chassis Cab, a Class 4 electric truck, on September 16, 2024.
This marks a significant milestone for the company, with deliveries and revenue recognition slated to begin in October 2024.
The Bollinger B4 is an all-new commercial truck that has been designed from the ground up with input from fleet operators and upfitters.
Unlike other electric trucks that repurpose internal combustion engine (ICE) chassis, the B4 features a unique, purpose-built EV chassis.
This design encloses and protects the 158-kilowatt-hour battery pack and other components, offering superior safety and capability for the commercial market.
Production of the Bollinger B4 will take place at Roush Industries’ facility in Livonia, Michigan. Roush Industries, known for its expertise in e-mobility and manufacturing, is partnering with Bollinger Motors to bring the B4 to market.
This partnership follows their successful collaboration in 2023, when Roush produced the Bollinger B4 Development Vehicles.
“This is an exciting time in Bollinger Motors’ history, as it takes a monumental team effort to go from start-up to production in the timeframe we have achieved,” said Bryan Chambers, president of Bollinger Motors. “The Bollinger Motors team, Roush Industries and our entire supply chain network has worked tirelessly to make the B4 a reality and I am very proud of everyone’s effort.”
“We are already experiencing strong momentum in the market from important customers throughout the country,” said Jim Connelly, Chief Revenue Officer of Bollinger Motors. “We are confident that we are bringing them a truck that will reward their trust and help transform their business. We cannot wait to get the B4 on the road, electrifying America’s fleets.”
The announcement of the production date follows several important milestones for Bollinger Motors.
These include receiving the Certificate of Conformity from the Environmental Protection Agency, securing multiple vehicle sales to major companies, and qualifying for federal clean vehicle tax credits under the Inflation Reduction Act.
Bollinger Motors has also established key partnerships with various companies to support the production and servicing of the B4. These include Our Next Energy for battery packs, Syncron for warranty administration, and Amerit Fleet Solutions for mobile service.
As the production of the Bollinger B4 begins, the company is poised to make a significant impact on the commercial EV market, offering a robust and reliable option for businesses looking to electrify their fleets.
