Milwaukee Tool has announced the launch of its M18 FUEL STRIKER hammer chisel, a cordless solution designed to deliver pneumatic-level performance without the constraints of air systems. Scheduled for release in September 2026, the tool is positioned as a replacement for traditional long-barrel air hammers commonly used in service and repair environments.
According to Milwaukee Tool, the STRIKER hammer chisel is engineered to provide the striking force technicians expect from pneumatic tools while removing the need for compressors and hoses. This shift allows for greater mobility across the shop and reduces setup time associated with air lines and fittings.
“This level of performance allows technicians to confidently move away from air tools without sacrificing productivity,” said Ryan Mack, Group Manager of Product Marketing at Milwaukee Tool. “By delivering long-barrel pneumatic striking force in a cordless solution, we focused on eliminating the frustrations of hoses while maintaining the power, consistency, and control technicians rely on every day in the shop.”
Powered by a brushless motor system, the tool generates up to seven joules of impact energy, comparable to long-barrel pneumatic hammers operating at 145 PSI. The unit is capable of delivering up to 3,000 blows per minute, enabling technicians to perform aggressive material removal tasks such as breaking loose seized fasteners, removing ball joints, and tearing down suspension components.
Milwaukee Tool also emphasized control and precision as key differentiators. The STRIKER hammer chisel features a variable-speed trigger and three selectable operating modes, including a ramp-up function that gradually increases impact speed to reduce slips during startup. This feature is designed to help protect surrounding components and improve accuracy during delicate operations.
In addition, the tool incorporates LED lighting to improve visibility in tight workspaces and onboard electronic controls to protect against overload during high-demand applications. A twist-style chuck allows for quick bit changes, while maintaining compatibility with standard .401-inch round shank accessories, enabling technicians to use existing tooling across pneumatic and cordless platforms.
Milwaukee Tool is also introducing supporting accessories alongside the hammer chisel, including a five-piece bit set and a protective boot. The bit set includes common attachments such as a flat chisel, tapered punch, and spot weld breaker, while the protective boot is designed to shield both the tool and surrounding surfaces in harsh environments where exposure to corrosive materials is common.
The M18 FUEL STRIKER hammer chisel is compatible with Milwaukee Tool’s broader M18 battery system, which spans more than 300 solutions. The bare tool has a listed weight of 7.2 pounds and carries a three-year manufacturer warranty, with a suggested retail price of $599.
