Milwaukee is expanding its M18 battery platform with the introduction of three battery packs aimed at professionals who depend on cordless tools in demanding work environments, including service truck technicians, transportation maintenance professionals, and heavy-duty tradespeople.
The new offerings include the M18 REDLITHIUM HIGH OUTPUT XC5 Battery, the M18 REDLITHIUM HIGH OUTPUT XC5 Resistant Battery, and the M18 REDLITHIUM FORGE HD15 Battery.
Each is designed to provide different combinations of power, runtime, durability, and charging performance while maintaining compatibility with more than 300 tools and equipment solutions on the M18 platform.

For technicians working in environments where batteries are routinely exposed to fluids and chemicals, Milwaukee is offering the M18 REDLITHIUM HIGH OUTPUT XC5 Resistant Battery. Along with delivering the same power and runtime benefits as the standard XC5 version, the resistant model features a housing engineered to provide increased protection against common oils, greases, and solvents found in transportation maintenance and manufacturing operations.
Both XC5 battery packs incorporate REDLINK Intelligence, Milwaukee's system that enables communication between the tool, battery, and charger to help protect against overloads while optimizing performance. The batteries also feature a redesigned construction intended to improve durability, help manage heat, protect electronics from water intrusion, and reduce the risk of failures caused by vibration or impacts.

For users requiring maximum runtime and output, Milwaukee's M18 REDLITHIUM FORGE HD15 Battery delivers 15 amp-hours of runtime and 50 percent more power than the HIGH OUTPUT 12.0 battery. The company said the battery also provides 25 percent longer runtime while maintaining the same physical size as the HIGH OUTPUT 12.0 pack.
A key feature of the FORGE HD15 battery is its COOL-CYCLE capability, which works with compatible M18 chargers to provide active cooling during charging. When used with the M18 Four Bay Simultaneous Super Charger, the battery can reach an 80 percent charge in approximately 25 minutes. Milwaukee stated that the cooling system is designed to reduce downtime and support performance in high-demand applications.
The FORGE HD15 battery also incorporates a resistant housing for protection against oils, greases, and solvents, along with REDLINK Intelligence technology to help protect tools and batteries from overload conditions.
