Michelin Connected Fleet and Doran Manufacturing have announced a collaboration that integrates Doran’s tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) hardware with Michelin Connected Fleet’s Smart Predictive Tire solution, providing fleets with a more connected approach to tire management.
The solution is available through the Platform Science Virtual Vehicle Marketplace, making it easier for fleet operators to access integrated tire monitoring hardware and predictive software through a single platform.
The collaboration combines Doran’s tire pressure and temperature monitoring technology with Michelin’s predictive analytics capabilities. By leveraging connected vehicle data and tire performance information, the integrated offering is designed to help fleets improve visibility into tire conditions and make more informed maintenance decisions.
According to the companies, the Smart Predictive Tire solution uses advanced analytics along with data such as tire pressure and temperature readings to identify potential tire-related issues before they result in roadside breakdowns or unplanned downtime. The goal is to help fleets improve operational efficiency while reducing disruptions caused by tire failures.
Willem Moore, President of Michelin Connected Fleet, said "Doran provides the signal, and our Michelin Smart Leak algorithm helps translate tire data into actionable insights that support informed maintenance decisions. By providing visibility into potential tire conditions, fleets can evaluate issues sooner and take appropriate action based on their operational needs. Our focus is on delivering information that helps fleets manage their tire assets more effectively and helps to support safe, efficient operations.”
Doran’s sensors and tire monitoring hardware supply the tire pressure and temperature data needed to support the Michelin Smart Predictive Tire platform. By combining hardware, software, and connected vehicle technologies, the companies aim to provide fleets with a more complete view of tire performance across their operations.
“Fleets do not just need more data. They need accurate and reliable information that they can trust to reduce tire related repair and maintenance costs, improve uptime and keep vehicles operating safely,” said Jim Samocki, President of Doran. “By combining Doran’s proven TPMS technology with Michelin’s Smart Predictive Tire solution, fleets can move beyond simply reacting to tire issues and take a more proactive approach to tire maintenance.”
The announcement follows the recent availability of Michelin Connected Fleet’s Smart Predictive Tire solution through the Platform Science Virtual Vehicle Marketplace and expands options for fleets seeking integrated tire management technologies.
