Makita has introduced its ML014G Tower Work/Multi-Directional Light, a cordless lighting solution designed to provide broad-area illumination for construction, utility, maintenance, and service applications. The tower light combines portability, adjustable lighting, and extended runtime to support work in a variety of jobsite conditions.
The ML014G extends to an overall height of eight feet and features three adjustable light heads that rotate 180 degrees vertically and horizontally, allowing users to direct light where it is needed. A foldable design enables quick setup and takedown while simplifying transport and storage.
Light output can be adjusted through a power dial that delivers illumination ranging from 1,100 lumens to 15,000 lumens. According to Makita, the daylight-white LEDs are designed to provide clear visibility while generating less heat than traditional halogen lighting systems.
Runtime is another key feature of the new tower light. When powered by a 40V max XGT 8.0Ah battery, the unit can provide up to 28 hours of continuous illumination on the low setting or up to two hours on high. The battery compartment is positioned to help maintain balance and stability while reducing exposure to jobsite wear and vibration. Batteries and chargers are sold separately.
Additional features include a lockable battery compartment, a one-button release handle, integrated carrying handles, and a shoulder strap. The tripod legs also offer space for attaching weighted bags or spikes to improve stability when operating on uneven surfaces or in outdoor environments. The light carries an IP56 rating for dust and water resistance.
The ML014G is compatible with Makita's XGT battery platform, which the company developed for high-demand cordless applications. The light can also operate with the company's LXT battery platform, providing flexibility for users already invested in Makita cordless equipment.
