Makita U.S.A., Inc. is expanding its automotive-focused cordless lineup with a selection of 18V LXT tools engineered to deliver high torque and improved access in tight working conditions.
The latest additions are designed to meet the needs of service technicians who require compact performance without sacrificing power.
At the center of the release is the LXT angle impact wrench series, built specifically for confined applications such as front crankshaft pulleys and engine bay fasteners. According to the company, these tools provide category-leading torque in a compact form factor, allowing technicians to work more efficiently where traditional impact tools may not fit.
The lineup includes the XLT03 (3/8-inch) and XLT04 (1/2-inch) angle impact wrenches, both equipped with friction ring anvils for quick socket changes. Their angled head design allows improved reach around suspension components, drivetrain assemblies, and other restricted areas commonly encountered in service truck operations.
Complementing the angle tools are standard impact solutions, including the XWT15 1/2-inch impact wrench with a detent anvil and the XWT16 3/8-inch impact wrench with a friction ring anvil. These models provide the fastening and loosening power required for wheel service, chassis components, and general repair tasks, reinforcing the versatility of Makita’s LXT platform.
Makita also adds the XDT20 18V LXT 4-speed impact driver, designed for precision fastening with multiple speed settings to match different materials and fastener sizes. For fabrication and surface prep work, the XDG01 die grinder offers a slide-switch design suited for continuous operation and fine control in metalworking applications.
Lighting and support tools are also part of the release, addressing visibility challenges in service environments. The DML818 underhood work light is built to illuminate engine compartments, while the DML819 magnetic work light provides flexible positioning for hands-free use on steel surfaces.
Additional specialty tools include the XGH01 heat gun for applications such as shrink tubing and adhesive removal, as well as finishing tools like the XOP02 dual-action random orbit polisher and the XVP01 compact polisher/sander. These tools extend the platform beyond repair into detailing and finishing work often required in fleet maintenance and refurbishment.
Together, the lineup reflects a growing emphasis on cordless efficiency in the service truck sector, where portability, runtime, and tool compatibility can significantly affect productivity in the field.
