Huddig AB has introduced the HUDDIG 1370 TIGON G2, the next generation of its hybrid excavator loader platform, incorporating lessons learned from four years of customer feedback and real-world machine operation.
Founded in 1959, Huddig is headquartered in Hudiksvall, Sweden, and manufactures multifunctional excavator loaders for the utility, railway, construction, and infrastructure sectors. The company has produced more than 12,000 machines and has established a strong presence throughout Scandinavia.
In recent years, Huddig has expanded into North America, including Canada through its partnership with JT Equipment in Calgary, Alberta, while supporting customers across the United States through its authorized dealer network.
The new 1370 TIGON G2 machine was developed using operational data collected from 41 first-generation TIGON units that accumulated nearly 100,000 operating hours in the field. According to the company, those machines operated on electric power for more than half of their total working time while delivering substantial reductions in diesel consumption.
A major upgrade to the new model is a 61-kWh battery, representing an increase of nearly 40 percent compared to the previous generation. The larger battery is intended to increase electric operating time while improving the machine's ability to capture and reuse energy through regenerative systems.
"The TIGON G2 is an important step in Huddig's continued development. We build machines that meet our customers' high demands for performance, efficiency, and flexibility. At the same time, we are constantly seeking new ways to improve the workday for those who work in and around the machine. In the new TIGON generation, we combine our long experience with excavator loader with ongoing technological development and electrification. We're also developing how we'll build our machines going forward," explained Håkan Bäckström, Chief Executive Officer, Huddig.
Beyond the battery upgrade, the 1370 TIGON G2 expands compatibility with a broader range of Huddig equipment and attachments. Available options include the Loader Coupled Crane (LCC), the company's Radio Control system, and multiple lift solutions designed for utility and infrastructure work. These additions are intended to increase machine versatility and allow operators to perform a wider variety of tasks with a single platform.
The company has also introduced Huddig Echo, a new connected platform designed to provide access to machine data and operational information. The system is intended to help operators and fleet managers better understand machine performance while supporting maintenance planning and equipment utilization.
For service fleets supporting utility, telecommunications, railway, and construction operations, the 1370 TIGON G2 reflects the continuing trend toward electrification and multi-function equipment capable of performing a broad range of tasks while reducing fuel consumption and emissions.
