Coxreels has introduced a significant product enhancement to its 1¼‑inch and 1½‑inch SLPL spring‑driven models, replacing the previous aluminum inline swivel with a more robust nickel‑plated steel version.
The update applies to five SLPL models—725, 750, 825, 835, and 850—and is designed to deliver higher pressure capability, improved durability, and better leak integrity for demanding service‑truck applications.
The new inline swivel, sourced from the company’s 1185‑Series, increases the pressure rating of the reel’s inline plumbing from 250 psi to 1500 psi.
According to Coxreels, the nickel‑plated steel construction offers a substantial durability improvement over the aluminum swivel it replaces. The design also incorporates the company’s multi‑lobe seals, which provide stronger leak resistance in high‑use environments.
For technicians requiring a stainless steel fluid path, the inline swivel is now available in stainless steel as well. This option offers a more cost‑effective alternative to the previously available outsourced 90‑degree stainless steel swivel, while also providing a less restrictive flow path.
Coxreels has also upgraded the axle plumbing on both the standard carbon steel and optional stainless steel SLPL models. The previous 135‑degree elbow has been replaced with the company’s swept‑riser design—also from the 1185‑Series—which improves flow efficiency by reducing restriction within the riser assembly.
